Michael is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, holding a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and a Bachelor’s Degree in media and communication from New York University. He currently works in private practice in West Hollywood, CA. He is trained in EMDR and KAP. He is also on the board of the group psychotherapy association of los angeles (GPALA). Prior to running his own practice, Michael worked at a variety of residential and outpatient treatment facilities treating both substance use and mental health disorders.

Why:
I believe that we heal through relationship—not in isolation. So rather than providing a list of pre-scripted tools, I strive to develop real, authentic connections with my clients. My goal is to utilize specific therapeutic tools uniquely tailored to your needs. My method synthesizes several therapeutic approaches that I believe in. These include EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, attachment theory and KAP.

Leslie Carr, PsyD

Dr. Leslie is a licensed clinical psychologist and an expert in how trauma, stress, culture, and digital technology impact the mind. She received her bachelor’s in psychology from Connecticut College, and her master’s and doctorate from the California School of Professional Psychology. In addition to being a traditionally trained talk therapist and a prominent mental health advocate, Dr. Leslie has been devoted to her own personal growth and healing since she first started going to therapy as a kid. Over the years her search for learning has led her to work with Native American medicine doctors as well as metaphysical practitioners of various kinds, and she’s received several advanced certifications including one as a Breathwork facilitator. She brings this breadth of experience to her work with Golden Afternoon as an integrative therapist.

Personal statement:
I’m a deep believer in ketamine in terms of its ability to aid the therapeutic process. My motto is, “Our past experiences in life shape us, but they don’t have to define us.” Psychedelics like ketamine can help us to choose who we want to be in life, and to start over. One of the limitations of classic talk therapy is that, while it can be profoundly beneficial and ultimately transformative, it’s time consuming and the process can be slow. Ketamine provides a real assist. Being able to make use of this in my work with my patients has been a game-changer.

Specialty areas:

  • Anxiety
  • Grief
  • Addictions
  • Complex trauma
  • Relationship issues
  • Low self-esteem and negative self-talk
  • Feeling “stuck” in life / limiting beliefs
  • Stress and burnout

Pricing (on top of regular ketamine session pricing):

Individual session rate: $425

Preparation and Integration package (one preparation session and one integration session) = $750. I also can be available at the clinic during your treatment - pricing ranges from $375-$565 depending on time; please inquire within and I can explain further.
